The finished goods!!

Finally...I unvail to you the button trees!! After 4 blisters from the glue gun and a sticky tablecloth, I'm done! The trees are so cute, I'm calling them "Sweet Christmas" trees. It was worth the blisters. I highly recommend making one.

I also made fun ornaments, I really enjoyed this and I used elmers glue, no blisters!! They really make a nice addition to a package.

Making me smile

As I just posted below, I explained that making caramel...is not my favorite thing. I was a irritated and the next thing I knew Bob & the kids were marching thru the house (Rosie had her knees up high!) and making music! Nicolas had his drum, Rosie had a funnel (making alot of noise) and Bob was making noise with my potato ricer! It was so sweet. I was overcome with laughter.

Shortly after the parade ended Bob & Rosie played Christmas songs on the piano. She loves to play with her daddy and we love to listen.

The Goods!

I've been busy! I'm not sure what has gotten into me, but I have been in the kitchen like crazy! Last night I made peppermint bark for the first time and I got an amazing recipe from MarthaStewart.com that used rice krispies - it's sooo good! Today...all day today I made pretzels covered with homemade caramel and milk and dark chocolate. They are sooo good too!

I will admit that making caramel is no picnic, it was stressing me out! Using a candy therm. UGH! Bob & the kids made me smile, I love a man that can do something so simple to make his wife happy...more to come.

The Button Tree

I totally fell in LOVE with the button tree that Jaime made for our craft day at church a few weeks ago. I was so in LOVE that I went to Joann's to buy everything I needed to make a few more, including a hot glue gun. I quickly found out that the glue gun I was handling was to powerful for me, I scorched the skin right off my finger and got a blister (see above) Anyways, I just love this combo!! Stay tuned for the results!

I made this dark chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting (homemade I might add) and dark chocolate shavings for a party on Friday night. As you can see there wasn't but a tiny bit left at the end of the night. This was easy and it was a BIG hit!

Trying to be a blogger

For some time I have been contemplating....should I or shouldn't I. Realizing I am far more discconnected from my friends than I thought, I decided we needed to join the blogger community. It's so fun to see your families change and grow.

The events that triggered this...

1. I'm on the phone with DP while I'm checking pics that she had recently posted realizing that they are the funniest pics...I've gone back to them a few times when I needed a pick me up.

2. I saw BJ at church and overheard a conversation of "4 little girls at home" I swear WJ was just 4 months pregnant and didn't know the sex of the baby yet!

3. After 2 boys DS is having a girl!! I had to find out from her blog...see totally disconnected!
